Halloween Special - Resident Evil the Movie

Yep I decided to follow the one game/one review gimmick. So naturally people would hear about from the game and the movies.

Now let me set up the scenery here, we're in 2001 when the announcement of this movie hits and we were hyped as hell because this series had grown so popular. The idea of making a Resident Evil movie came along very early, and it has been rumored a lot before it actually came out.



What endgame ? This is Resident Evil by Paul W.S Anderson a movie fulfilled with action and zombies -yay zombies- never gets old, or does it ? Well the first reaction while seeing this movie is who are these people was I entering the wrong room at the local cinema or maybe was I dreaming.
Of course no I wasn't, and instead of having the duet we've all met in the first game we now only got one main character named Alice.... Even the X-men movies that shares just vague resemblance to the actual comic book got the names right and same for its characters.

Who other than Paul W.S Anderson could lead this, huh let me guess a shitload of people thousand times better than him - on a side note he'd just have to change his name Paul B.S Anderson there'll be just a letter to change - but of course not, so what we have instead is a sloppy plot that has nothing to do whatsoever with the games, characters that when at first glance you say what the fuck just happend.

Not to mention the actual clichés of horror movie, like we'd better split up. Alright split against a swarm of zombies, now I know this has been the same with the game and I'm cool with it but in the game you just don't enter the complex in within 10 minutes in don't you ? That's right, in this game you just enter the complex of Umbrella right after the credit roll.... awesome right ?
Now I'll stop bitching around, say there's somethings that are good in this flick, for instance it doesn't run much time that's good, zombies are not deceiving and the action packed scenes are pretty good regardless.

Bottom Line : If you're searching for the first real Resident Evil movie, this one isn't the one you should be looking for, of course it's just entertaining for non-fan but since the movie goers were all fan of the series... we all know how this ended up to be. The actor choices is bad and we feel like the role was given to Milla Jovovich as "I banged this Chechz chick so i'm giving her a role".
