Halloween Special : Resident Evil 2 Game Review

As a part of the reviews about the Halloween special, discover the 2nd game of the franchise. This one came out in 1998 on the Playstation and is considered to be the best of the whole series, it sure his a good game in any aspect of it anyway.

But let's take a closer look to see what makes it special, well first of all it's conveniently spread onto 2 discs for each character you can play as, not only that but the replay value is very high with this one considering there's a whole lot of things to discover.

So this time around, no Jill Valentine and no Chris Redfield either for that matters but two new characters. A rookie cop named Leon that just got transferred to Racoon City and just some girl Claire Redfield and yes that one happens to be Chris's sister and she's actually looking for him. So in this episode you enter the police station where the S.T.A.R.S office are and gotta say for a police station it's pretty unique on it's own ! For one thing there's 2 floors ok not that uncommon but is that common to have so many room into a police station ? nah it looks freaking like Ikea and it's really spacious !

So the mechanics of the game are the same as the previous one which contributed to it's success of course since that was a real breakthrough and even though you have to press a button to aim with your gun it's still stays pretty fluent and smooth. There's one complaint I have however about this game even though it's my absolute favorite of the series with Code : Veronica (which will be reviewed at some point this week) it is just too freaking easy to beat the game and you can actually complete it within 2 hours each character, but the experience is actually completed by the countless additions there is to it, like alternative scenarios or even other characters to unlock !
Bottom line, for me this Resident Evil game is the better of the series and it's perfectly payable by newbies that just want a good survival horror game, not to mention there's a lot to unlock, two main characters and two others as well.... So you might check it out, believe it or not it totally worth the bucks !
